Creation in a Reverse Way
“Blessed are they who see beautiful things in humble places where other people see nothing.” — Camille Pissarro
Our Theology professor told us last Monday to look for the “Reverse Creation” in the cyberspace. I was completely clueless on our assignment. Since our topic that time is the two version of God’s creation (look for Genesis 1 and 2), I thought it would be something like that. Well, in some way, I was right. It uses the same sentences pertained in the creation but kinda differ in a way this one is not about God creating the universe, but about man wanting to destruct everything.
REVERSE CREATION
by Bernard Backman
In the end, we destroyed the heaven that was called Earth. The Earth had been beautiful until our spirit moved over it and destroyed all things.
And we said…
Let there be darkness… and there was darkness. And we liked the darkness; so we called the darkness, Security. And we divided ourselves into races and religions and classes of society. And there was no morning and no evening on the seventh day before the end.
And we said…
Let there be a strong government to control us in our darkness. Let there be armies to control our bodies so that we may learn to kill one another neatly and efficiently in our darkness. And there was no evening and no morning on the sixth day before the end.
And we said…
Let there be rockets and bombs to kill faster and easier; let there be gas chambers and furnaces to be more thorough. And there was no evening and no morning on the fifth day before the end.
And we said…
Let there be drugs and other forms of escape, for there is this constant annoyance – Reality – which is disturbing our comfort. And there was no evening and no morning on the fourth day before the end.
And we said…
Let there be divisions among the nations, so that we may know who is our common enemy. And there was no evening and no morning on the third day before the end.
And finally we said…
Let us create God in our image. Let some other God compete with us. Let us say that God thinks as we think, hates as we hate, and kills as we kill. And there was no morning and no evening on the second day before the end.
On the last day, there was a great noise on the face of the Earth. Fire consumed the beautiful globe, and there was silence. The blackened Earth now rested to worship the one true God; and God saw all that we had done, and in the silence over the smoldering ruins… God wept.

I was completely moved by this poem. And unfortunately, it’s becoming more of a reality nowadays. It is for sure that many people, just like me, will be inspired by this poem. I just hope I can thank the author in person for this exalting and one of a kind masterpiece. Seriously.
By the way, sorry for not updating my site for a long time. Been busy with school. Did you miss me? Haha.
Got a twitter? Then, follow me! I’ll follow you back.
And to those who had emailed me these past few weeks, I’ll reply next weekend. Promise!

awts, ang ganda ng poem, patama talaga sa mga tao noh.. tsk tsk..
August 16th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
Unfortunately, what he wrote is the truth. Yikes. Gradually, planet Earth is deteriorating. We still have time left to do the necessary changes.
August 16th, 2009 at 5:35 pm
that is interesting and so true..
I wish and hope we’ll all change.
happy blogging.
August 16th, 2009 at 6:49 pm

great poem really interesting
August 18th, 2009 at 4:21 am
Yes you are right, the most of the victims are little children but there are cases where adults are kidnap as well because of their capacity to do more things that a child would to,like work for instance.
Anyways, this,as you have said is very disturbing and it scares the crap out of you.
And as the justice for that poor guy is not very existent because police, both romanian and bulgarian, know about that neighborhood band but there is nothing they can do.About the romanian police that is true, they can’t do anything because is not their teritory but about the bulgarian I really don’t know.
Hopefully this will change.
August 18th, 2009 at 10:47 am
Yeah haha I made a huge mess out of the server change. No i’m not on fan update, still with wp haha.
August 21st, 2009 at 2:59 am
I have to agree with you on that. Masterpiece indeed. It’s really sad how the way the world is now huh? No peace at all and there are divisions everywhere. Tsk. Sad sad sad. I don’t think that’ll ever change. Haha. Pessimism much?
August 23rd, 2009 at 4:40 am
woah~ thanks for sharing.. Well I don’t usually think about this yet, I only think about what we can do to prevent it. T_T
though I think it would be a global warming instead of Fire.
From my point of view, the earth might just clean it self [ ice age ] and not literally explode.
August 25th, 2009 at 10:10 pm
This is amazing , well the poem is oh so true. We humans destroyed everything, i don’t know pero may sira ata utak natin na manggulo ng di naman natin ginawa.
August 26th, 2009 at 6:45 am
So sad how that poem is becoming a reality.
That is very moving however, really makes ya think.
Did you enjoy the HP movie after? I still get slightly sad thinking about it lol.
August 29th, 2009 at 9:49 pm
wow, interesting poem.
August 30th, 2009 at 2:50 pm
Thanks about the layout.
What a poem. It’s very beautiful. Very soon, the earth will be really be gone. Very nice composition, maybe that’s why it moved ya. ^^
August 31st, 2009 at 10:46 am
I enjoyed reading that and the art work. Its so very true, some of the stuff in the poem!
Yes we missed you lol.
September 6th, 2009 at 5:43 am
The Tower of Terror actually wasn’t that scary. It was kind of cute to be honest.
I don’t like scary movies either really.
And yea, Utada is the best!!
Whats your favorite song by her?
I found that poem very touching also. It is sad really how the world has been tainted so. How could we destroy our once beautiful planet? How could we hurt so many of the creatures and people in it? Its something I don’t understand and its sad that we blame everyone and everything else for our planets destruction when it is us that is breaking it apart.
Thank you for sharing the poem. It was oddly inspiring. It really makes one think about things.
September 6th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
